Refund, Returns & Exchanges Policy

At Pedal the Metal, we want to make sure your gear arrives as expected and performs the way it should. If something arrived damaged, was the wrong item, did not fit, or was lost in transit, we’re here to help.

Returns & Exchanges

Return and exchange request window

All return or exchange requests must be submitted within 45 days of the order date.

Condition requirements

To be eligible for a return or exchange, items must be:

  • New and unused
  • In original packaging
  • With all tags and accessories included

A valid receipt or order number is required for all return and exchange requests.

Eligible Return or Exchange Reasons

We accept returns or exchanges for the following reasons:

  • Incorrect item received
  • Incorrect size ordered for apparel
  • Item arrived damaged or defective

We do not accept returns for general change-of-mind purchases.

Non-Returnable Items

For safety, hygiene, and resale reasons, we do not accept returns on:

  • Climbing equipment, including harnesses, ropes, and carabiners
  • Personal protective gear
  • Undergarments and swimwear
  • Customized or personalized items
  • Sale items marked Final Sale

Exchanges

Apparel size exchanges

Exchanges are available for apparel size changes only.

To request a size exchange, contact us at rideon@pedalthemetal.com within 45 days of your order date.

Unless the exchange is due to our error, return shipping is the customer’s responsibility.

Damaged, defective, or incorrect items

If you receive a damaged, defective, or incorrect item, we will work to replace or reship the correct item, not issue a refund.

Please contact rideon@pedalthemetal.com and include:

  • Your order number
  • A photo or short video showing the issue

In some cases, we may ask you to return the incorrect or damaged item before we send a replacement. This will be handled case by case.

If the correct replacement item is no longer available, we may issue a refund or store credit in accordance with the refund section below.


Shipping Issues

Lost in transit

If the carrier marks your package as lost in transit:

  • We will first attempt to reship the order at no charge.
  • If the item is no longer available for reshipment, you may be eligible for a refund or store credit under the refund section below.

Marked delivered but not received

If tracking shows your order as delivered but you did not receive it:

  • Please first check with neighbors, building management, security desks, and around your property where the package may have been left.
  • If you still cannot locate it, contact us at rideon@pedalthemetal.com.

We will review the delivery details with the carrier and advise you on next steps.

If the carrier cannot confirm delivery, we may offer a one-time reshipment. We may ask you to provide an alternative delivery address to help prevent repeat issues.

If the carrier confirms delivery to the address provided, we cannot issue a refund.

All shipping and delivery issues must be reported within 45 days of the order date.


Refunds

When refunds are available

Refunds are only available when we are unable to reship a replacement item.

This may apply if:

  • An item was damaged or defective and is no longer available for replacement
  • The wrong item was shipped and the correct item is no longer available
  • An order was lost in transit and the item is no longer available for reshipment

Refund timing

  • Requests made within 30 days of the order date are eligible for a refund to the original payment method.
  • Requests made between 31 and 45 days of the order date are eligible for store credit only.

Refund processing

Once approved, refunds or store credits will be processed within 5–7 business days.

Shipping charges

Original shipping charges are non-refundable.

Return shipping is the customer’s responsibility unless the issue was caused by our error, including:

  • Damaged or defective item
  • Incorrect item shipped
  • Another fulfillment error on our part
